- Of course, if one spends enough time around a person who has that fracturing of the mind, they know that there's a moment where it becomes a little too clear. An event happens where you know that they see life a little too differently. Their vision and perspective is a little too skewed. They see horror as romance where everyone else only feels terror. They see the darkness as too happy when most people prefer the light. And it's not these perspectives that make the insanity obvious. It's the moments where they speak of those differences, where they act a little too strange.
- For me, it wasn't an uncomfortable thing. I suppose I was always a little too odd. It wasn't difficult to say, "I can handle the insanity." Because I could. Sometimes, it's not anything violent or dangerous. It's nothing to be afraid of.
- It's merely a different language that you have to learn how to speak. You have to set up the scene correctly to soothe the madness, to calm the wild beast that rears its distorted head. It's a lot like creating horror really. I suppose that's where some of my so called "genius" really comes from. Years and years of practice in smoothing the terrible image of monsters. Of course, I have to create my own monsters in film.
